Rhymba v3.6 Documentation

Introduction

We come to it, at last. The great battle of our time.
- Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King)

We come to it at last, but certainly not least: Rhymba's robust and capable Streaming services. Deployed in production for years, the various incarnations of the Rhymba Streaming APIs power numerous large-scale streaming customers. Pushing an average of over 5.5TB of streaming traffic per day at a rate north of 12,000 transactions per-second at peak, and tightly coupled with our banks of dedicated & cloud encoding servers, Rhymba Streaming is a powerhouse of a service.

It's something we're incredibly proud of. And now, you're going to see how easy it is to implement streaming into your service offering.

Welcome to Rhymba Streaming v3.6

Previous versions of Rhymba Streaming relied on SOAP & XML, and were cumbersome for non-.NET shops to implement. With version 3.6, we wiped the slate completely clean of any and all legacy logic, and started completely from scratch to deliver a fast and robust streaming service built for scale and speed.

The actual streams are offloaded to our worldwide CDN through secure entry points provided by the Rhymba Streaming API methods. Whether you're building the next big Rdio competitor, or an innovative mobile app, or providing in-location background audio — Rhymba Streaming is your door to implementation.

This is a fairly concise section of the documentation because the process is that straightforward. Read on, Macduff!
